From November 4-6, Sound Sound Sound Fest is here for it’s first ever instillation! The festival just released their lineup and from the looks of it, it’s going to be stellar.
This three-day music festival will feature a variety of outstanding indie, punk, hip hop, metal, and dance music, as well as comedy and live panel discussions. With headliners that include Beach House, Death Grips, Explosions in the Sky, Phantogram, and Descendents, this will no doubt be an epic experience. Considering it’s the festival first year, the line-up will be a huge draw and something Austinites can really look forward to.
Although it’s not confirmed whether Sound on Sound Fest is officially replacing Fun Fun Fun Fest held at Auditorium Shores, it takes place in the same weekend. According to The Austin Chronicle, when Fun Fun Fun Fest founder Graham Williams separated from Transmission Events last month because of venue issues, the main question would be the destination for a completely new festival.
The new spot, Sherwood Forest, is located 35 miles east of Austin in McDade, Texas in the Lost Pines region of Central Texas. The festival grounds also includes the encompassing renaissance village which features a castle (yes a castle), jousting arena, and stockades. This spectacular location, combined with the lineup, will most definitely be bringing high volumes of crowds to this inaugural festival.
However, the drive could potentially deter people away from attending. To alleviate the issue, SOS Fest has announced plans the will allow concert-goers to use a shuttle to and from the festival. Round trip shuttle passes will cost $5 per day or $10 for the entire three-day weekend, although the price will jump to $10 per day and $20 for the three-day pass once the festival starts up.
Click here to visit their website to purchase passes (both single and weekend). Three-day GA passes are running for $169 plus tax and shipping, weekend Treat Thy Self (VIP) passes are $445 plus tax and shipping. Onsite camping are going for $115.
