Live music AND glow parties? What more could you ask for! In honor of the unveiling of their new fully-immersive studio, local World Music band Rattletree will be hosting glow parties and live music performances the weekend of September 23-25th.
You’ve probably heard of these guys, but in the off chance you haven’t, just think of it as the place where “World electronic meets African Marimba”. The band was recently featured on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and voted Austin’s Best World Music Band by the Austin Chronicle.
You can check out a clip of them here preforming “Blood Red”:
The festivities include five performances— two on Friday and Saturday starting at 8 PM and 10 PM, and a matinee on Sunday at 3 PM. Their sponsor, X8 Drums, will be doing a community drum jam for people to join in the fun before each show as well. You can also be looking forward to the fact that special guest choreographer, Amy Morrow, will be showcasing a dance created specifically for Rattletree.
Word on the street is, this is going to be one non-stop high-energy, heart-pounding, get-up-and-dance weekend of festivities. The band themselves have created a very unique, high vibration community within the live music scene here in Austin, so this event will no doubt be one for the books.
According to Austin Music Review, concert goers enter “a portal to a magical dimension filled with vibrant African dance music, gargantuan hand-built wooden marimbas, a kaleidoscope of light and color, and an ecstatic stage show.”
The Rattletree Studio is located at 2401 Thornton Rd. Unit 3, Austin, TX 78704. You can purchase your tickets now here— prices range from $5-20. There’s also a limited number of VIP tickets available at the lounge area, so order soon if you’re interested!
