Hailey Tuck is a romantic rebel. At 18, Tuck spent her college fund on a one-way ticket to Paris in hopes of becoming a jazz singer. Today, Tuck embodies this persona in both musical talent and mien. Her voice is seemingly saturated in honey, each word sweeter than the last. Her jet black bob and red lips add an authentic feel to her performance.
Heavy and melodic, the EL DESIERTO LP from local band, Sin Motivo, is a bold and significant move in the Austin music scene. Even though this album was released last year, I still think it’s important to reflect on albums that some may have overlooked in 2015.
Free Week is great because in a city where everything else is so expensive, having some fun at no extra cost is a blessing. Free Week is also great because a lot of that free fun is local Austin music at several different local venues.
I have a list of favorite things and in no particular order they go like this: burritos, Samoyed dogs, ’90s emo, free stuff and music in general. Like any good millennial, I think paying for things is stupid. That’s why Free Week is one of my favorite weeks of all time.
